What Film Is Used for Pesticide Packaging?

Although the pesticide is widely applied to the agricultural production, many people is still not familiar with the packaging film of the pesticide. Now, let’s look at the following content to know it in elementary.

  1. Polyethylene (inner layer material)

Polyethylene(PE) is made by polymerization of ethylene monomer and has different properties such as low-density polyethylene, medium-density polyethylene, high-density polyethylene and cross-linked polyethylene.

  1. Polypropylene [outer material (OPP, BOPP) & inner liner material (CPP)]

In the use of packaging materials for liquid pesticides and emulsified oils, composite  polypropylene film (RCPP) is often used as the inner layer material for packaging films because of its good heat sealability, mechanical strength and corrosion resistance. In addition, CPP is vacuum aluminized and then combined with BOPP, PET, OPA, PT, etc. used as the outer layer to form a composite material.

  1. Polyethylene Terephthalate Film (outer layer material)

Polyethylene Terephthalate(PET) has high mechanical strength and rigidity, is fairly scratch-resistant, and has extremely high heat resistance and chemical resistance. PET film is the most widely used film as the outer layer in the composite packaging bag, and is also the most used outer layer film for pesticide emulsion packaging.

  1. Aluminized Film(middle-layer materials)

At present, PET, CPP, PE, PVC, OPP, PT, paper vacuum aluminum plating film is widely used, among which PET and CPP vacuum aluminum plating film are the most used. In addition to the characteristics of the original base film, vacuum aluminized film also has beautiful decorative and superior barrier properties. After the substrate is vacuum aluminized, the barrier performance to light and various gases will be greatly improved. This is related to the thickness of the coating layer, the thicker the coating layer, the smaller the transmission rate, the higher the barrier, and the better the overall performance as a packaging material.
